Bone and Joint Surgery Association, with the contribution of Amasya University, sent medical aid to the doctors working in Azerbaijan Karabakh front line.
Making a statement on the subject, Amasya University Rector Prof. Dr. Suleyman Elmacı said that:
“As Amasya University, we closely follow and support the honorable struggle of brother country Azerbaijan to save the Nagorno-Karabakh lands occupied by Armenia.
However, the continuation of the war and the constant attack on Azerbaijani civilian habitats despite the ceasefire decision cause the need for war surgery to increase every day.
Bone Joint Surgery Association (KECD) is in contact with doctors in Azerbaijan. They sent us the list of needs and the materials and we delivered the needs to the health institutions in Azerbaijan through KECD.
External type fixators, which have an important place in this list of needs, were provided under the responsibility of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of our University Faculty of Medicine with the support of Aday Medikal. As a university, we are proud to have supported Azerbaijan in its just struggle, and we inform the public that we will not refrain from any kind of assistance when necessary. “
Thank you mail published by the Bone and Joint Surgery Association:
“Dear Colleagues,
We have informed our valuable colleagues there that we are ready to help them in their struggle to save Azerbaijan's 30-year-old Armenian-occupied territories from occupation. During our meetings, we learned that our colleagues in Baku and Ganja needed different types of fixators, and we urgently delivered different types of fixators and materials to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara on 10 October 2020. Regarding this activity of our association, we received many messages from all over our country, in addition to praise offers, both for help offers and the request to work there voluntarily. As the war continued and the Armenian troops constantly hit civilian settlements despite the so-called ceasefire, we learned that our colleagues are increasingly in need of war surgery supplies. Thereupon, we met with our esteemed professor from all over our country and the valuable representatives of our sector that produces orthopedic materials. As of today, we delivered the materials delivered to us in the last week, sterile and ready to use, in 10 parcels, to the Azerbaijan Embassy.
We would like to express our gratitude to the valuable teachers of 19 Mayıs University, Amasya University, Afyonkarahisar University of Health Sciences, Erzurum Atatürk University, Erzincan University, Erciyes University and Şanlıurfa University Faculty of Medicine, Orthopedics and Traumatology Departments and Ankara Training and Research Hospital, Samsun Training and Research Hospital, İstanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital and Orthopedic Clinics of Çarşamba and Gazi State Hospital together with İzmir Tıpmed, Amasya Aday Medical and Afyon Akalp Medical companies
As the Bone and Joint Surgery Association, we declare once again that we stand by the Azerbaijani people in their honorable struggle and that we, as Turkish Orthopedists, are ready for all kinds of help. As the board of directors, we would like to thank all our colleagues and esteemed industry representatives who supported us in this effort.
