Making a statement on the subject, Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Elmacı said that the results of the studies initiated by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) on July 23, 2015, including our university, are pleasing and they are justified in receiving the certification of the quality standards of Amasya University activities.
Stating that all the work and operations of Amasya University are standardized with an internationally recognized document with the contribution of the quality team we have formed to support our quality studies, Rector Elmacı: Our quality board regularly collected annual Quality Internal Evaluation Reports and conveyed them to YÖKAK. Our university went through an external evaluation process by YÖKAK in 2018. In the external evaluation report, our university's strengths and aspects open to improvement are clearly expressed. Among the most striking aspects of our university that are open to improvement in this report; It is the determination of the lack of practices containing quality standards and the absence of an accredited unit.
120 People Attended TSE Quality Standards Trainings
I can easily say that the quality studies of our university have gained momentum after I started to work as the Rector in May 2019. As a result of the importance I attach to quality studies, TSE Quality Standards trainings have been planned and carried out at our university. 120 people attended the quality trainings given by TSE instructors as academic and administrative staff. With the quality trainings received, it has been ensured that the quality culture is disseminated at a sufficient level and the level of awareness on quality assurance is raised. This paved the way for continuous improvement based on education, ensuring the integration of the objectives in the strategic plan with the quality assurance system, ensuring the effective participation of all units in program accreditation studies and quality management studies. After the training, Quality Management System Workshop was held when Quality was established.
In summary; It is a necessity to establish a quality system at our university in order to ensure continuous improvement, to prove the quality education, services and activities provided, to reduce risks and related costs, to comply with laws and regulations, to increase the job satisfaction and self-evaluation of our academic and administrative staff.
Amasya University has been awarded the TS EN ISO 9001 certificate for three years as of 14.09.2020, thanks to the devoted work carried out without any interruption during the pandemic process with the Quality Management System officially put into effect on 11.01.2020.
Our Accreditation Studies Will Continue.
In addition, within the scope of our goal, "5 Programs Will Be Accredited by the End of 2024", which is one of the goals of our University's 2020-2024 Strategic Plan, while the accreditation studies of 3 programs in our Faculty of Arts and Sciences continue uninterruptedly, the accreditation studies of 2 programs in our Faculty of Theology have come to an end.
Today, as Amasya University, we are proud of obtaining TS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certificate. We would like to express that we are aware that this document is not a result but actually a responsibility.
